Robotics

The anthropomorphic dual arm system is part of the AEROARMS project which is sponsored by the EU Commission: In this project, an advanced robot system with a number of arms shall be developed to be used for inspection and maintenance works in industrial plants. It is attached to a drone as multi-robot-platform. Various specifications need to be fulfilled: Highest possible movability of the arm, analogue to the humanoid original, low weight, low inertia moment and robust against impact and overload. Several igubal® flange bearings are working inside the robot arms. Its housings are made of pressure-resistant and dimensionally stable igumid G. They offer mechanical protection of the servo motors and are low weight. igubal® flange bearings ensure smooth rotation of the aluminium shaft and dampen vibrations at the same time.
