Turning, tilting, lifting: Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) such as the Open Shuttle from KNAPP Industry Solutions must always move reliably and maintenance-free, even in continuous operation. To enable the AGVs to adapt to different transfer heights, they require a lifting mechanism, for example. To achieve this, the Open Shuttle (Fig. 1) relies on two lead screw linear axes of the type drylin SLW as well as E2 micro energy chains for cable guidance.
