The superwise is the name of our service that takes care of monitoring, remembering, checking and, in short, looking after the smart products you use.
What is superwise?
The superwise is a comprehensive service we offer for monitoring and analysing the energy chain. While the underlying sensors such as i.Sense or i.Cee modules enable monitoring, superwise stands for the all-round service package offered.
When components are used in mechanical engineering, maintenance intervals must be taken into account, components should be replaced at the end of their service life and if faults occur, timely notification can prevent expensive downtime. The superwise service can take care of all this for you.
What does the superwise service offer me?
The superwise offer includes:
- Installation and set-up: igus integrates the monitoring systems into existing systems.
- Data evaluation: igus continuously analyses the status data of the energy chain and provides insights.
- Maintenance planning: Based on the collected data, recommendations are made for optimised maintenance and the replacement of components.
- Remote monitoring: As an option, igus can also monitor the status data in real time and take action in the event of problems.
The aim of superwise is to relieve customers of as much work as possible with a supported system and at the same time optimise the uptime of their machines.
With the right service, all relevant information is displayed in a clear dashboard . And if there is a need for action, we will get in touch with you.
There are different methods to determine the remaining service life of your e-chain®. Which one suits you best?
Statistical service life assessment
Number of cycles/day, speed, acceleration, ambient conditions.
These fundamental features are included in the Basic service.
Adaptive service life expectancy
Sensor-based recording of the movement profile.
This feature is included in the Silver service.
Dynamic service life assessment
The movement profile and wear condition are recorded by sensors.
This basis is included in the Gold and Platinum service.

The superwise Basic Service gives you access to the superwise portal. There you can view our statement on the service life of your energy chain. We determine this using your information and data on the basis of statistically determined values. In addition, we offer you the service of informing you in good time when inspection dates are due.
Information such as the number of cycles per day, speed, acceleration, fill weight and ambient conditions are used to calculate the expected service life. Time-controlled maintenance plans can be created based on this information.
With the Basic version, you secure yourself:
- An overview of your components in the dashboard
- Maintenance management via the dashboard

- Information on service life based on statistical values
- Next service reminder
- Use of sensors for condition monitoring possible

With the superwise Silver service you can supplement your energy chain with our i.Sense or i.Cee modules. These determine the exact condition and maintenance requirements of your energy chain and send it to you, giving you a precise statement on the condition and service life of your energy chain.
The calculation of the service life is based on the actual movement profile of the e-chain®. With the help of i.Sense sensors, the number of cycles, speed, acceleration, etc., are recorded and included in the service life calculation .
With the Silver option you secure yourself:

We take care of inspection, replacement, maintenance and repair. You don't have to worry about a thing.

What does this do for me?
Imagine that a foreign object falls onto your operating energy chain and obstructs the chain in its intended field of movement. Unusually high push/pull forces will then act on the chain. Unnoticed, the situation will escalate until the chain breaks. The machine comes to a standstill! A replacement chain must be procured as quickly as possible.
An expensive scenario. Couldn't this have been prevented? Our answer is clear. Yes, it could have been. Our i.Sense sensors measure the forces acting on the chain and issue an alarm if they become unusually high.
